The pedagogical legacy of Carl Orff

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is pedagogical legacy of Carl Orff, because this music educator and composer has created an important method of work in musical education known as "Schulwerk" which teachers use up to the present. The bachelor thesis contains only the theoretical part which deals with his personal life and his life as a composer. On top of that, it analysis his most famous works. Furthermore, there is focus on history of Orff's method, Orff's instrumental, the instruments used in musical practice and the introduction to work of art and a five-volume publication "Musik für Kinder" too which is important for musical-pedagogical activities. Bachelor thesis deals with the world level of Orff's school too, after then development of musical-pedagogical Carl Orff's thoughts both in the former Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic (Czech Orff society). In the last part of bachelor thesis, there is focus on Orff institute in Salzburg and the use of Orff's method in working with handicapped people. The aim of the theoretical part was to provide comprehensive theoretical knowledge of Carl Orff's musical-pedagogical activities and for the variegation demonstrate a practical demonstration of work in music education based on his ideas.
